New update for Android

Get a list of upcoming shows/concerts in your area, based on tracks in your library with a few clicks. Simply choose “Shows/Concerts” from the menu in the “Library” tab and get a list of concerts. If you wish you could determine your location using GPS or simply enter your city, state (if you’re in the USA or Canada) or city, country (otherwise).

Enjoy!

Genres/Tags

For those who would like to be able search and play music by genres (or tags) we provide this tutorial.

First of all, once you upload music to Moozone, a few things happen:

  • We read ID3 tags, pull out track genres. These genres get associated with the uploaded tracks.
  • We try to match your tracks against our catalog (we have over 7 million tracks with proper genres and tags).
So if your track has the proper track, album and artist titles, there’s a very good change it will have correct genres (or even sub-genres) associated with it. Worst case scenario, you can always enter genres (tags) manually on our web site.

So how can you use that information on both the web site and our Android App?

Well, type the following in your search field tags:rock. You will get a list of all tracks (or albums, depending on your current view) that have rock tag associated with them. Now hit random play (or simply a play button) and you will be able to play all these tracks.

Want to hear all metal and classical tracks at the same time?

Try searching for tags: classical, metal.

Let us know what you think and how it works out for you.

M4A is now supported
Mp3 might be the most popular format at the moment, but we’re well aware that there’re many users using other formats, like OGG and M4A. Just about a month ago we announced support for OGG format. Now it’s turn for M4A.
Upload away, dear Moozoners!

Android Moozone App Update

In the version of our successful Android App we have tried to decrease gaps between songs. And I believe you will be happy to learn that with a good 3G connection you get no more than 2-3 seconds.
Enjoy our service and give us more feedback.

What have we been busy with?
There have been a number of enhancements for our Android App lately. Here is the list:Player: Better connection error management. If all of a sudden connection gets dropped in the middle of buffering a song, you will be presented with 3 options: retry, skip, or stop. In some cases users prefer to skip to the next song, especially if most of it has already been played.
Feature: Playlist random shuffle. Someone might be willing to shuffle the tracks in a playlist. Not it is possible.
Feature: Random play for tracks in Save Box. Works similarly to the same feature in the Library tab.
UI: Improved responsiveness of the play button.
Other minor fixes
