Moozone for Android (v3.03)
Here is what comes with the new update:
- Random play for selected items. While you’re in the “Library” tab, select a few tracks (or albums) and choose “Random Play” from the menu. The application will play tracks randomly from the list of the selected items.
- Another way to play tracks randomly from an album (or an artist) is to use a long-click and choose “Random Play”.
- If you think that the search toolbar is taking too much space, you will be able to hide it by choosing “Hide Search” from the menu while you’re in the “Library” tab.
- Other visual improvements
Enjoy!
Genres/Tags
For those who would like to be able search and play music by genres (or tags) we provide this tutorial.
First of all, once you upload music to Moozone, a few things happen:
- We read ID3 tags, pull out track genres. These genres get associated with the uploaded tracks.
- We try to match your tracks against our catalog (we have over 7 million tracks with proper genres and tags).
So how can you use that information on both the web site and our Android App?
Well, type the following in your search field tags:rock. You will get a list of all tracks (or albums, depending on your current view) that have rock tag associated with them. Now hit random play (or simply a play button) and you will be able to play all these tracks.
Want to hear all metal and classical tracks at the same time?
Try searching for tags: classical, metal.
Let us know what you think and how it works out for you.
New version of Moozone & Moozone Pro
We’ve spent a lot of time trying to improve our streaming engine. You will certainly see the difference once you update. The new version is smart enough to reconnect in case of a network failure. Download to Save Box has also been improved and will make its best trying to download your files in the areas of bad reception. Give it a try.

If You Prefer High Quality Music
Who doesn’t?
Well, I think most of the people actually don’t. Otherwise there wouldn’t be FM radio, Pandora, Last.fm. We’re an iPod generation, that consumes music with cheap headphones or speakers.
But there’re still many of those who DO care. Who want to hear a song the way it was meant by artists and sound engineers. Those for whom mp3/128kbps won’t cut it.
What should these people do? What is the best way to store and enjoy their high quality music collection?
First of all, what would be the best choice of audio format? Is it mp3/320kbps? Well, I must say mp3 at 320 gives you a pretty decent quality. You can find numerous tests on the Internet that show that it requires a very good stereo system and a pair of ears to actually tell the difference between a CD and an mp3 file encoded with 320kpbs. But it’s possible and I’m sure there’re plenty of those who tried that.
Can I get something better than an mp3/320 and still keep the file size small? The answer is yes. You can always turn to an OGG Vorbis, which gives you up to 500kpbs. I believe at this rate even the most demanding ear can be satisfied.
The next question is can you stream OGG Vorbis? And the answer is again yes. Most of digital locker servers out there will convert OGG files into an mp3 file for streaming. However Moozone.com supports true streaming of OGG Vorbis files, where the actual OGG file will get streamed to your computer or an Android app.
I, myself, have ripped all my old CDs to OGG/500 and uploaded them to Moozone.com. 3G networks are fast enough to handle 500kbps without any problems.
